ADAPTIVE DANCE
Adaptive dance classes are for children who have a diagnosis or disability which requires some adaptation or additional support. During these 40 minute classes, students will warm up, stretch, learn basic dance steps, and play dance-related games. We will work on coordination, balance, strength, motor skills, body awareness, and spatial awareness. The class will also focus on helping children learn to follow directions with a group of peers, and improve overall regulation and self-esteem.
ADAPTIVE DANCE
AGES 6+
Inspired by creative movement concepts, this class develops foundational dance skills. Locomotor movements, motor planning, and body awareness are primary areas of focus for students at this level. As dancers build these skills, they are introduced to multiple dance genres through choreographic combinations. Dancers also practice taking turns with their peers and working together in a classroom setting. While class requires an adult present, the goal is for children to participate independently.
