COMPETITIVE DANCE

Competitive Dance banner

Viking Dance Company (VDC) is a creative and expressive physical outlet for dancers ages six and older who seek to develop their technical virtuosity and stage presence through adjudicated performances. VDC is for dedicated dancers who are interested in accelerating their training and performance artistry.

Membership is by invitation only. Dancers who demonstrate a solid understanding of dance foundations, diligent work ethic, good sportsmanship, and creative artistry are ideal candidates for VDC. All dancers are considered for VDC during the Spring evaluation process.

VDC is composed of two branches that come together to form one team. Each company branch groups dancers into routines based on their skill level, age, and experience at auditions. All members are required to be enrolled in regular technique classes in addition to weekly rehearsals.

We pride ourselves in adhering to age-appropriate choreography, music, and costumes. VDC emphasizes confident stage presence and precision, while striving for continual growth and improvement over perfection, both at the individual and group levels.
